Aleph Records To Release The Soundtracks for Sudden Impact And SPOOKS, The Music From Bullitt to Appear In Hei$t (March 31, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) – Aleph Records will release the soundtrack for Sudden Impact and SPOOKS on May 6.
Sudden Impact was the fourth film of the five film “Dirty Harry” series. Composer Lalo Schifrin returned to the series, after composing Dirty Harry and Magnum Force, but not the third film The Enforcer. Aleph Records has released the soundtracks for the first three films. With only excerpts released on the first “Dirty Harry” LP, Sudden Impact includes the complete score plus additional bonus tracks that have been remixed from the original multi-track masters.
In addition, on May 6, Aleph Records will release the soundtrack for SPOOKS via iTunes, a new military horror series from Devil’s Due Publishing. SPOOKS was created and co-written by Schifrin’s son Ryan. The comic is a hit and has sold out within its first week and all four issues will be turned into a graphic novel in July. The music appears on the website for the comic (www.spooksthecomic.com).
Lalo previously scored the film Abominable for Ryan Schifrin. CODEMASTERS has licensed tracks from the film Bullitt, composed by Lalo Schifrin. HEI$T™ is an all-new job pullin’, bank robbin’ action-driving game set in a gritty San Francisco, circa 1969. HEI$T has gamers taking charge of a group of renegade criminals as they rob, steal and shoot their way throughout the city, all the while their sights set on the big score: taking the San Francisco Mint. The video game will be released in the summer of 2008. Composer Lalo Schifrin is a true Renaissance man.
As a pianist, composer and conductor, he is equally at home conducting a symphony orchestra, performing at an international jazz festival, scoring a film or television show, or creating works for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the London Philharmonic and even The Sultan of Oman. He has written more than 100 scores for films and television including the classic scores for Mission: Impossible, Mannix, The Fox, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, Dirty Harry, The Cincinnati Kid, and The Amityville Horror.
Schifrin’s recent film scores include Tango, all 3 films from the Rush Hour trilogy, Bringing Down The House, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, After the Sunset, and Abominable. To date, Lalo Schifrin has won four Grammy™ Awards (with twenty-one nominations), one Cable ACE Award, and received six Oscar™ nominations.
